Beijing pollution

by Tony Sagami on August 14, 2008

in General

I am now in Beijing and two things jumped out immediately to me.

The Chinese people are EXTREMELY proud to be hosting the Olympics. I’m not talking about just the government leadersand people involved with the Olympics. I’m talking about everyone from the taxi drivers to the waitresses to the hoteldesk clerks.

The government’s effort to clean up the air pollution has been a failure. The air is a little better than usual butstill quite bad. As usual, visibility is very limited.
