China export growth slows to 7%

The latest numbers show that the slowing U.S. economy is affecting Chinese exporters.

June exports increased by only7%, a fraction of the 20%-plus export growth rates China had been enjoying for year.

This doesn’t mean that the Chinese economy is slowing though. Domestic consumption is growing fast enough that it ispicking up the slack (and then some) to make up for the sluggish export market.
