I admire a lot of things about Warren Buffett, but I especially admire all the philanthropic work he does. One of the
highest profile charitable things he regularly does is auction off a lunch with him.
In the past, I’ve seen people spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to lunch with Buffett

Central bankers all across Asia are raising interest rates, including the Reserve Bank of India increased its
key rate to 8.5% last week.

The Straits Times Index of Singapore has lost
almost 15% of its value so far in 2008. That’s too much for an economy that is healthy, vibrant, and growing.
China’s national pension fund, the National
Social Security Fund (NSSF) , reported assets of 439.69 billion yuan at the end of 2007, up from 282.77 billion a year

The number of cell phone users in China hit 592 million. That’s 8% more than at the beginning of

“Apple is no longer insisting on a revenue-sharing policy, so the biggest hurdle for China Mobile to bring in the iPhone has been cleared.”
The Taiwan cabinet expanded
the ability of Taiwanese brokerage firms to invest in China. Taiwan brokers can invest up to 20% of assets into Chinese companies, double the
previous limit.
This is just more money that will pour into Chinese stock and that is a very good thing.
