Emergency air pollution steps in Beijing

Despite earlier measures, the air pollution in Beijing remains bad.

That why the Chinese government unveiled additional emergency plans to clean up the air, includingtaking more cars off the roads and closing down 105 more electric, furniture, building material and chemical plants inBeijing. And halting all construction work.

The neighboring towns of Tianjin, Zhangjiakou, Chengde, Shijiazhuang, Baoding, Langfang, and Tangshan will close 56additional factories including coal-fueled power plants, building materials, and chemical factories.
