Falling alumina prices hit Chalco profits

Aluminum Corp of China (ACH: 13.76 +0.57 +4.32%), also known as Chalco, is the third-largest alumina producer in the world. Big or not, business wasn’t very good last year as revenues dropped 4.3% in 2008.

That’s what happens when the price of alumina drops by 23% in a year.
