in General

Chinese retail sales increased by 23.2% in August.

That brings the year-to-date growth rate of retail sales to 21.9%, a huge jump from the 15.7% during the same periodlast year.

Exports are still a very important part of the Chinese economy, but internal domestic consumption is becoming theprimary driver of economic growth.
