Samsung drops SanDisk takeover

Samsung dropped its $5.8 billion bid to buy SanDisk because of its deteriorating business.

Sales dropped by 21% and the company lost $155 million in Q3.

Smart move by Samsung. The flash memory business has turned into a low margin commodity business.
