The tight fisted Chinese consumer

You’ve probably heard the figure thousands of times: roughly 70% of U.S. GDP is consumer spending.

That number is very different in China. In China, consumer spending accounts for only 35% of ChineseGDP.

The reason for the huge difference is simple — the Chinese (as all Asians) save a huge percentage of theirincome.
