Companies dump another 467,000 jobs in June

The June employment report was just released by the Labor Department. Here’s what the data showed:

Mortgage applications dropped sharply in the week of June 26. The Mortgage Bankers Association’s application index (chart above) plunged 18.9% to 444.8, the lowest level since late November.
